With it's 'I went mad in Bo Concept' deco, immaculately dressed staff, wide range of spirits, sheltered smoking area and fine dining area, Breeze is a contradiction in itself managing to marry it's unashamedly classy and sophisticated business model with an utterly un-stuffy and non-threatening environment. Stay for a swift pint or settle in for the evening, it doesn't matter, you simply wont want to go anywhere else.

Making it look like opening a successful bar's a Breeze

Yes we added Breeze to our 'One shot of Bournemouth' as the best place to go for a drink but we really needed to expand on just how nice this place is, yes it does seem to follow the trend of many a new Bournemouth bar with it's 'I shop at Bo' decor however it took a shot in the dark i think with placing itself away from the centre of town and sticking itself in the International Student Hub that is Charminster.Up until now the best Charminster had to offer for the more discerning was Sebis but as Sebis seems to be looking a little less discerning now-a-days its refreshing to find somewhere like Breeze to relax and that's exactly what you can do. Out the window goes the pretentious nature of many bars in Bournemouth and in comes a more relaxed, uncomplicated environment that students and businessmen can both mix. Walking into Breeze the first thing you are struck by is it's size, it's like a Wonder Bra, you think it's big inside but once you're in it's a different story but unlike many this isn't a problem. What they have done is decorate in light, bright and pastel shades to make it feel airy and bright rather than dark and enclosed, this is helped by the absence of walls and the abundance of glass... simple. There is a downside however and it's a bloody annoying one if like me you're not a smoker, the veranda resembles the rest of Breeze but without glass and in summer is wonderfully cool however every smoker uses it resulting in the non-smoker being confined to the inside and out of view of the LCD TV much to the delight of all those smokers who resent being banished outside. This problem is less of one in the winter or when major tournaments are out of season. Frankly we really like it, the drinks are not 'overly' pricey if you're used to central Bournemouth prices, there is little if any music so you can hold a conservation or business meeting and it's a 5-minute bus ride to town so happy days indeed. |
